LONICERA (Honeysuckle) A vigorous twining climber. Different varieties require different conditions. See also shrubs

Lonicera americanaL. x americana AGM (Also known as L. x italica) Clusters of white, soon becoming pale, then dark yellow with a purple tinge outside, June and July. Grey green leaves. Deciduous. Height to 6 metres. Sun or part shade in a moist well-drained soil.

Lonicera brownii Dropmore ScarletL. x brownii ‘Dropmore Scarlet’ Tubular, bright scarlet flowers from July to October. Mid green leaves. Deciduous. Height  to 4.5 metres. Most soils in sun or part shade.

Please be aware that the flowers are often attacked by aphids as they open in the spring

 

 

L. etrusca ‘Superba’ AGM The fragrant flowers are red outside and white inside which gradually changes to yellow, June and July. Pale greyish-green leaves, deciduous. Height to about 6 metres.
Lonicera x heckrotii GoldflameL. x heckrotti ‘Goldflame’ Scented, yellow flowers, flushed purple held on the ends of the shoots, July to August. Greyish green leaves. Deciduous. Height a twining shrubby climber to about 4.5 metres. Will tolerate a wide range of soils.
