Female form has berries if pollinated by a male.Dark shiny green leaves, heavily spotted and splashed yellow, evergreen. Height and spread 2 to 3 metres.

Aucuba japonica ?’Fructu Albo’ Reddish purple female flowers in March and April followed by creamy-white berries. Shiny green, leathery leaves.
