PERSICARIA (Was Polygonum) Excellent groundcover plant. Needs moist soil in sun or part shade.

Persicaria affine ‘Donald Lowndes’ AGM (Was Polygonum) Spikes of clear pink flowers fro June to September. Small narrow, shiny, green leaves. Height 30cm. Spread 60cm.

Persicaria amplexicaule ‘Atrosanguinea’ Thin spikes of rich crimson flowers July to September. Mid green Dock like leaves. Height 120cm. Spread 120cm.
Persicaria amplexicaule ‘Firetail’ AGM Thin spikes of scarlet flowers June to September. Mid green Dock like leaves. Height 100cm. Spread 100cm.

Persicaria bistorta ‘Superba’ AGM Spikes of soft clear pink flowers in May and June, some through to September. Mid green Dock like leaves. Height 75cm. Spread 60cm.

Persicaria campanulatum Tiny bell-like flowers on branching heads, June to September. Deeply veined dark green leaves. Height 90cm. Spread 90cm, often more.

 
Persicaria microcephala Red DragonPersicaria microcephala ‘Red Dragon’ Small white flower in late summer but really grown for the burgundy leaves with a central splash of plum and with a silver sheen. Height a clump forming perennial, 50cm. Spread 50cm. Will tolerate sun though best in part shade.
Persicaria virginiana ‘Painters Palette’ (Was Tovara) No flowers. Leafy bushes with soft yellow variegation splashed brown and a hint of pink. Height 60cm spread 60cm. Needs a sheltered position.
