PLATANUS Plane trees are hardy deciduous trees suitable for growing in full sun. They will tolerate atmospheric pollution

P. x hispanica AGM Insignificant flowers followed by round, spiky fruits. Has maple like green leaves. The bark on the trunk flakes giving an attractive mottled effect. Height a large growing tree 8 to 10 metres. Spread 10 to 15 metres.

P. orientalis ‘Mirkovec’ Insignificant flowers and fruits. Large, palm shaped, mid green leaves turn red, often as early as August, then turn brown before falling, deciduous. Height a large shrub to small tree, 3 metres. Spread 3 metres. Best autumn colour in an acid soil.
