CERCIDIPHYLLUM Best grown in a deep fertile soil.

C. japonicum AGM Insignificant flowers. Heart shaped leaves are red when young, turning rich green and often having red and yellow autumn tints, deciduous. The whole tree often smells of burnt sugar especially in the autumn. Height 6 to 8 metres. Spread 5 to 6 metres.
