Sambucus - Moist soil in sun or part shade. Can be pruned if necessary.  D

 

S. nigra White, sweetly scented, clusters of flowers in June, followed later by shiny blackberries.  Green devided leaves, deciduous.  Height and Spread 3 to 4 metres. Generally sold as a hedging plant in the autumn.
S. nigra ‘Aurea’ AGM  White, sweetly scented, clusters of flowers in June, followed later by shiny blackberries.  Golden yellow leaves, deciduous.  Height and Spread 3 to 4 metres. 
Sambucus nigra Black LaceS. nigra ‘Eva'  BLACK LACE Creamy pink buds and flowers in June followed by blackish-red berries. Darlk purple almost black deeply cut fern-like leaves, deciduous. Height and Spread 3 to 4 metres.

Sambucus nigra Black BeautyS. nigra 'Gerda' AGM BLACK BEAUTY Clear pink flowers with a lemon-muscat scent, June and July followed by shiny purple black berries. Striking and intense purple foliage, deciduous. Height and Spread 3 to 4 metres. NO PROPAGATION WITHOUT A LICENCE.  

S. nigra ‘Guincho Purple'   WE HAVE STOPPED GROWING THIS IN FAVOUR OF S.n. 'Black Beauty' which holds it's leaf colour much better. 

Sambucus nigra laciniataS. nigra f. laciniata White, sweetly scented, clusters of flowers in June, followed later by shiny blackberries.  Green fern-like deeply divided leaves, deciduous.  Height and Spread 3 to 4 metres. 
Sambucus nigra MadonnaS. nigra ‘Madonna’ White, sweetly scented, clusters of flowers in June, followed later by shiny blackberries.  Green leaves broadly margined yellow to cream, deciduous. Height and Spread 3 to 4 metres. 
S. nigra ‘Pulverulenta’ White, sweetly scented, clusters of flowers in June, followed later by shiny blackberries.  Green leaves conspicuously splashed and marked white, deciduous. Height and Spread 1.5 to 2 metres. 
Sambucus racemosa Sutherland GoldS. racemosa  ‘Sutherland Gold’ AGM Yellowish-white, sweetly scented, clusters of flowers in June, followed later by scarlet berries. Golden yellow leaves made up of several, coarse, cut leaflets, deciduous.  Height and Spread 2 to 3 metres.
