CHIONANTHUS - Requires full sun and well-drained soil. D

C. retusus Erect panicles of white flowers in June and July followed by blue black fruits. Bright green leaves softly hairy beneath, deciduous. Peeling or deeply furrowd bark. Height a large shrub to small tree 3 metres. Spread 2 to 3 metres. Lime tolerant.

C. virginicus Drooping sprays of lightly fragrant white flowers June and July. Mid to dark green leaves, deciduous. Height a large shrub to small tree, 3 metres. Spread 2 to 3 metres.
