S. byzantina (Was S lanata) Silvery stems with tiny magenta flowers from June to August. The leaves are covered with soft, smooth silvery hairs. Height 45cm. Spread 45cm often more.

S. byzantina ‘Big Ears’ Silvery stems with tiny magenta flowers from June to August. Very large leaves, up to 25c long, are covered with soft, smooth silvery hairs. Height 45cm. Spread 45cm often more.

S. byzantina ‘Primrose Heron' Introduced by us and named after Sue Gemmell's mother Primrose Heron.Silvery stems with tiny magenta flowers from June to August. Young leaves primrose yellow, are covered with soft, smooth silvery hairs, gradually turning pale lime green. Height 45cm. Spread 45cm often more.

S. byzantina ‘Silver Carpet’ The leaves are covered with soft, smooth silvery hairs, mostly a non flowering form. Height 30cm. Spread 45cm often more.

S. macrantha ‘Superba’ Mauve whorls of flowers from May to July above clumps of crinkled, mid-green leaves. Height 60cm. Spread 25cm. Requires full sun or partial shade.
