SALVIA (Sage) Brightly coloured flowers and aromatic leaves. Requires full sun and well-drained soil. Some need winter protection as they can be killed by frosts and hard weather.

S. argentea AGM Rosette forming perennial, grown for its woolly silver foliage. In summer, branching clusters of sage like, white flowers are produced on strong upright stems. Height 60cm. Spread 45cm. Needs very weel drained soil in full sun as susceptible to winter wet.

Salvia sclarea turkestanicaS. sclarea var.turkestanica Pinky mauve flowers on tall spikes in June and July above aromatic oval, hairy leaves, Height 120cm. Spread 45cm. THIS PLANT IS BIENNIAL SO WILL SEED ITSELF BEFORE IT DIES.
S. x sylvestris 'Blaukonigon' (Blue Queen) Deep blue flowers in June and July above clumps of green heavily veined leaves. Height 75cm. Spread 45cm.

Salvia uliginosaS. uliginosa AGM Tall thin stems bearing spikes of clear azure blue flowers from August to October. Bright green aromatic leaves. Height 1.5 metres. Spread 0.45 metres. May be damaged in hard or wet winters if not protected.

S. verticillata ‘Alba’ White flower spikes in July and August above large light green leaves.  Height 30 to 45cm. Spread 30 to 45cm.
