CENTAUREA Cornflower- like flowers. Requires any well-drained garden soil in sun. Does well in rough lime soils.

C. dealbata ‘Steenbergii’ Rosy red flowers from June to August. Deeply cut leaves, grey green above and white below. Height 75cm. Spread 60cm. Can be invasive.

C. 'John Coutts' Large, bright pink, cornflower like flowers from June to August. Deeply cut grey green leaves, white below. Height 75cm. Spread 60cm. Does well in limey soils.
Centaurea macrocephalaC. macrocephala Bears yellow globular flowers enclosed in brown papery bracts. Can be dried. Long rough mid green leaves. Height 90cm. Spread 60cm.
C. montana Blue flowers, in June and July carried on lax stems. Mid to dark green leaves with a whitish hairy covering. Height 90cm. Spread 60cm.
