PICEA Requires a moist well-drained soil in full sun.

P. abies Fast-growing, pyramidal conifer with dark green leaves. Narrow, pendulous, glossy, brown cones 10-20cm long. Much used as a Christmas tree. Height a large tree reaching 10 metres or more. Not suitable for dry soils or shallow chalk.

P. a. ‘Little Gem' AGM Young growth bright green gradually turning to dark green. Evergreen. Height a dwarf bun shaped bush, 0.3 to 0.6 metres. Not suitable for dry soils or shallow chalk. 

P. a. ‘Nidiformis' AGM Young growth bright green gradually turning dark green, evergreen. Height a low flat topped bush 1 to 1.5 metres wide. Not suitable for dry soils or shallow chalk.
P. glauca var. albertiana `Conica'  Bright grass green leaves often with a greyish tinge, evergreen. Height a slow growing pyramidal tree to 1 to 2 metres. Spread 0.3 to 0.45 metres.
Picea  glauca J W Daisys WhiteP. glauca 'J.W.Daisy's White' Outstanding, almost white, young growth, later mid green. Evergreen. Height a slow growing pyramidal tree to 1 to 2 metres. Spread 0.3 to 0.45 metres.
P. pungens ‘Edith' Grey-blue, needle-like, leaves. Evergreen. Height a small conical tree about 2 metres. Spread about 1 metre at the base.  
P. pungens ‘Globosa' AGM Grey-blue, needle-like, leaves. Evergreen. Height a dwarf, flat topped, globular bush, 0.5 to 1 metre. Spread 0.5 to 1 metre.  
P. p. 'Iseli Fastigiata' Grey-blue, needle-like, leaves. Evergreen. Height a narrow conical tree 2 to 3 metres. Spread about 1 metre.
